Cirque Series ,

… first appears as a creative AKA in the summer of 1982 while Evergon was spending six weeks doing an Estage at the Recontre Internationale de la Photographie, Arles, France. While five of us invitees, including Marianne Fulton and Nissan Perez, piled into a compact car with gauze and surgical tape for a photo fun shoot of 5 ‘Van Goghs among the Sunflowers’. We passed a plastics company, Celluloso Cellulosi, which jingled its way into Celluloso Evergonni by the end of the excursion.

Celluloso becomes the author of much of the large format 8”x10”, 20”x24” and 40”x80” Polaroid works that dealt with Homo Baroque and Homo Rococo re-enactments. The later two formats where cameras that were housed by the Polaroid Corporation in Boston, New York City, and Frankfurt, Germany. The finished pieces were images that had been specifically constructed for the lens. The lighting was a mix of filtered tungsten and flash that created a more painterly palette. The images ranged from solo images to diptychs thru polytychs of as many as 13 images.
